Bulk human plasma testing positive for cardiolipin antibodies. Cardiolipin is a component of the mitochondrial membrane which makes up approximately 20% of the lipid composition. Patients which have cardiolipin antibodies often suffer with antiphospholipid syndrome, a coagulation disorder which causes blood clots, and complications during pregnancy. Cardiolipin has also been associated with a number of other disorders including Alzheimer’s, Diabetes and Syphilis.
