Fatty Acid Binding Proteins (FABP) are a family of proteins of 14 – 15 kDa, that facilitate the transfer of fatty acids across cellular membranes. Some studies indicate this may be a better early marker of Myocardial Infarction than Myoglobin as well as a sensitive marker for liver cell damage.
