Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is an abundant leukocyte enzyme which is elevated in inflammatory and cardiac conditions. Raised levels are a predictive marker for myocardial infarction which appear to be more reliable as a predictor than Troponin, CRP or CK-MB levels.
