Prealbumin

Prealbumin is a tetramer of approximately 60 kDa. Prealbumin, also known as Transthyretin, is a nutritional status marker used to monitor sufficient protein and energy intake for hospitalized patients. Prealbumin assessment can be associated with Retinol Binding Protein as an indicator of hepatic synthesis in acute liver disease.
