Thyroglobulin is a protein of 660 kDa and pI of 4.49. Raised serum Tg is associated with papillary or follicular carcinoma of the thyroid. Tg is important in autoimmune disease of the thyroid, especially in symptomatic patients presenting TPO antibody negative.
